UMF 2026: A Return to Form

Ultra Music Festival (UMF) 2026 returned to Bayfront Park from March 27–29 with something it hasn’t had in years — a weekend where the weather (mostly) stayed out of the way. After back-to-back years where the thunderstorms felt like a headliner and rain delays disrupted the schedule, this year UMF took control. The B2B Era Ultra leaned heavily into pairings that felt intentional, creating moments that stood out beyond the typical festival rotation. Alesso b2b Martin Garrix delivered one of the weekend’s biggest Main Stage draws, while Amelie Lens b2b Sara Landry pushed further into techno territory at the Megastructure. Across the lineup, that same energy carried into all aspects of the festival. HALŌ brought a more underground, progressive house vibe, while Wankdat delivered one of the most unpredictable sets of the weekend. Then there was the “festival within a festival” — Sebastian Ingrosso b2b Steve Angello. What started as a set quickly turned into something bigger. Axwell’s appearance reunited Swedish House Mafia in a moment that felt long overdue, while Eric Prydz added to an already stacked run of Swedish talent. The set also took a more emotional turn with a tribute to Avicii, grounding the spectacle in something more meaningful. And of course, Bizarrap delivered one of the weekend’s most talked-about surprises, bringing out Skrillex for a moment that felt like pure cinema. Main Character Moments But Ultra wasn’t done there. John Summit closing down the Main Stage on Sunday night felt like a defining moment, not just for the weekend but for his trajectory as a whole. Headlining Ultra is one thing. Closing it is another. And instead of playing it safe, he leaned all the way in — jumping into the crowd, running around shirtless, and fully finding the comfort in chaos. DJ Snake and Major Lazer helped anchor the weekend, keeping the energy high across some of the weekend’s biggest moments. Hardwell delivered one of the most consistent high-energy sets of the weekend, cutting through the noise in a way only he can. Over at the Megastructure, Carl Cox once again proved why he remains a cornerstone of Ultra, delivering a set that felt just as commanding as ever. On the heavier side, Excision carved out one of the most intense moments of the weekend, proving just how much space bass continues to hold at Ultra. Across the board, these weren’t just strong performances. They were moments that defined how the weekend really felt. See you at Bayfront Park, in 2027!
