Mysterious Manchester-based DJ and producer Kylie Goes Berghain has officially rebranded to Kylie Wears Berghaus following a legal intervention from the iconic Berlin nightclub. The anonymous artist, known for performing sets comprised entirely of exclusive electronic edits of Kylie Minogue tracks, shared a statement on Instagram revealing they received a “gentle request to avoid legal action” from the storied techno institution. The project, which debuted in late 2024, was initially conceived as a “fun idea” inspired by a 2012 white-label remix of Minogue’s track ‘Slow’. However, as the act transitioned from a “mad idea” into a legitimate touring entity with performances at London’s MOT, Leeds’ Headrow House, and Manchester’s The DBA, the use of the trademarked “Berghain” name drew the attention of the club’s legal team. This is not the first time the Berlin venue has moved to protect its intellectual property; the club previously took action against Bristol-based illustrator Christopher Wright (Turbo Island) over similar trademark concerns.
