Istanbul Club Bans Light-Colored Clothing to Preserve “Rave Culture”

An Istanbul club dress code is drawing attention after the venue announced that only dark-colored clothing will be permitted at its electronic music events. The new policy, shared by 74 Hall Performance, limits entry to guests wearing what it describes as “rave-appropriate” outfits. In a statement posted on social media, the venue wrote: “Rave culture is a statement. Only dark, rave-appropriate outfits are allowed. Light colors will not be accepted.” The accompanying graphic clarified that white, cream, yellow, red, pink, turquoise, and other light tones will not be permitted under any circumstances. According to the club, guests must wear predominantly dark clothing, particularly black. Additionally, the venue encourages industrial and rave-inspired accessories that align with techno aesthetics. The club says it introduced the Istanbul club dress code to preserve the atmosphere inside the venue and maintain harmony between lighting, stage production, and music.
