What is LISTENING SESSION with MOGENS?

Pulling records from my collection I feel connected to in an effort to show where my sound is and some of the music that's got me here. Mogens is a Mauritanian-French DJ and record collector born in Jersey City and raised there as well as in Dakar. His initial interest in DJing came from the dance floor. Growing up with a lot of very close West African family friends as well as around the Jersey Club scene exposed and connected him to the communal, liberating, and passion-filled nature of dancing. He carried that with him until eventually learning about and experiencing the different New York dance scenes, all the while still remaining a collector of records from all across the African diaspora. This all fused into what his sound is today.
