What is In Memory of Young Pablo: SNO, Obeka, Yohan & Bugs Groove?

At the end of October 2025 we tragically lost Adrian Darwin aka Young Pablo too soon. In his memory, we are throwing a party with DJs who knew him, fundraising for a tree to be planted in his memory. You can expect to hear; Kwaito, Reggae, Dub, Afrobeat, Baile Funk, Bass Music, Breaks, UKG, Grime, Leftfield, House, Disco & more. Young Pablo Adrian Darwin AKA Young Pablo was born and raised in Kenya into a mixing pot of music from around the globe. When he was 15, his DJ career began, at first playing at friends’ parties, to then quickly developing recognition amongst pioneers of electronic music in Kenya at the time. Known just as Adrian Darwin, he played stages at various events and festivals around Kenya, before moving to the UK in 2012, where in London and York he developed his sound to become AGM. It was his love for music that then brought him to Manchester, studying music, playing for various collectives at Stage & Radio as ADEE, and then finding his musical family at Me Gusta, where his identity as Young Pablo was fully-formed. A move to Melbourne in 2021 saw him become a member of the KISS FM team, hosting a show called “Beat Therapy” each week. On his return to Manchester, Young Pablo continued collecting music, building his record collection, travelling for music festivals, but most importantly being on every dance floor he could, his other sacred place when not on the decks, enveloping himself in what Manchester has to offer. Young Pablo was best recognised for his mixes of Afro and Latin house, Dub, UK garage, Grime/Drill, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Ska, and Techno. We pay tribute to him with this event through sets from the following artists at a venue he loved. SNO SNO is a South African born, Manchester-based crate digger and vinyl enthusiast that has played on the global circuit over the past few years due to her impeccable tune selection and sincere enthusiasm for music of all genres from all over the world. A selector, event curator and a resident of NTS Radio and Reform Radio (UK), it’s a treat to have SNO perform at this event. Obeka From the shores of Bermuda to the inner-city musical depths of the UK underground club scene, Obeka provide unearthed, heavy and dynamic live drum performances, delivered by his Caribbean and African roots. Bermuda born musician Obeka featured as MixMag’s ‘Artists to Watch in 2025’ and delivers a native sound and rhythm distinct to his homeland. The multi-percussionist blends native styles from Pan-African, Caribbean and South American origins that became essential for manifesting polyrhythmic electronic beats and tempos with a mix of live and software based drum performances. Obeka has ventured his sound in a multitude of UK cities and beyond the shores in Bologna, Cuba, Lisbon, Berlin and most recently finishing a debut tour in Miami and Colombia. Obeka has a plethora of EPs released on Future Bounce, Love in The Endz, Basy Tropilkalne and Left, Right & Centre. Jumping into his second year as an Oroko Radio Resident, a station based in Ghana, Obeka has further ventured into the airwaves of BBC Radio, Rinse FM, Rinse France, NTS Radio, Miami Community Radio and most recently Berlin platform Refuge Worldwide. Obeka has expanded his sound beyond the borders supporting musicians such as Lil Silva, Sampha and Major Lazer. Yohan Yohan is co-founder and one third of the Me Gusta Collective, bringing artists such as Badsista, Kikelomo an Arthi into Manchester’s vibrant underground scene. From performing at festivals such as Cross The Tracks, We Out Here Festival and El Dorado to radio shows on Operator Radio, NTS & Rinse FM, expect to hear sounds from every cross pollination of rhythmic vibrations throughout the night. Bugs Groove Manchester-native Bugs Groove aka Seb Theodossiadis is no stranger to Soup and over years of experience in the booth has developed his taste to cover an eclectic range of genres whilst forging specialisms in house, techno & dub techno. Always finding the sweet spot of self-indulgence without a compromise on the pleasure of the crowd, it’s these skills that have led him from local to international DJing in Sweden, Switzerland and Croatia, becoming a mainstay at Tisno-based Dimensions Festival, as well as playing in major cities in the UK like London, Bristol and of course Manchester and on well recognised radio stations like NTS & Rinse FM. Since 2021 he has launched his own event series Ost which has provided an unfiltered outlet for hosting his favourite artists including established stars like Nick Höppner, Tama Sumo, XDB, Levon Vincent and Mike Schommer. His experience promoting stems back to 2015 but is showing no signs of slowing down. Stay late to see Bugs Groove close out the party. £10 advance with more on the door. All to a good cause. Rest In Peace Adrian.
