We are back next Friday at Schubas for another exquisite evening of dance tunes played by our staff and a special guest. This time we have Gramaphone employee and everyone’s favorite Italian stallion Tommaso and one of Chicago’s best to ever do it Sorrbet. Tommaso is a Chicago-based vinyl selector, record digger, and DJ, originally from Florence, Italy. Rooted in the birthplace of house music, his passion began with his parents’ collection of vintage Italian 45s and grew into an expansive archive of global rarities spanning eras and genres. Now a fixture in Chicago’s underground music scene, Tommaso has been embraced by many of the city’s house music pioneers, bridging the gap between generations and introducing their legacy to a new wave of listeners. Sorrbet is a musical palate cleanser with a style that is unique yet familiar. Nostalgic like a childhood treat, yet refined for adult consumption. Sorrbet creates an emotional experience including (but not limited to) four-on-the-floor percussive house, synth dance classics, grooving edits and obscure disco. Sorrbet’s excellent programming abilities, and knowledge provide unique flavor to the dance floor.
