Zip

Thomas Franzmann, also known as Zip and Dimbiman, is a co-founder of the label Perlon and has been active in music since 1986. He began as a singer in the band Second Voice, later joined the EBM band Bigod 20, and formed the audio-visual project Pile in 1996. Zip has held residencies at Robert Johnson in Offenbach and Panorama Bar in Berlin, and has released music under various pseudonyms on multiple labels including Perlon and Playhouse.

Zip represents the Berlin, Germany electronic music scene with a focus on Minimal and House, showcasing a deep understanding of Minimal through dynamic sound design. Their approach to electronic music combines technical precision with creative expression, earning recognition across the international community.
