Let’s be honest, the information that bombards us every day about the bad people of the world is overwhelming, so let’s take a few minutes together and enjoy the Disco & Funk music made for us by some really good people! Disco has always been music born out of protest, and I say we continue that tradition. Check out this month’s SoundCloud playlist Read Past Disco and Funk Charts Here Jessie Ware – I Could Get Used To This [Interscope Records] Jessie Ware has brilliantly redefined her sound over her last few albums, diving into the ocean of Disco and all of the wonders it holds. Ware’s new album Superbloom (April 10, 2026) will feature more Disco-centric tunes that complement What’s Your Pleasure and That! Feels Good. The lead single, “I Could Get Used To This,” is a lush Disco fantasy, a place of sensuality and surrender. Ware explains the album: “Since ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’ I’ve been trying out this fantasy world and escapism. I’m not the most by-the-book ‘pop star’, but I do like to play with dress-up, glamour, and fun. While I love dance music, I wanted to dig deeper with this record; to connect with real relationships and appreciate the love I have, and the fears I have of losing it.” Strausz – Dance To Save Your Soul [Favorite Recordings] Diogo Strausz‘s new LP Dance Para Se Salvar is an unabashed love letter to the Brazilian Disco-Funk scene of the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. “Dance To Save Your Soul” is the only lyric on this track, but the repetitive nature creates a trancelike state that opens up the groove of the song. This LP was recorded on vintage analog equipment to capture the retro vibe of the era. Petko Turner – Family Business [Basspatrol Records] Petko Turner‘s new LP Back On Track has a little something for everyone, from Funk, Soul, Rap, Jazz, Synthwave, and more. “Family Business” has a wonderful throwback Funk vibe reminiscent of Curtis Mayfield and Isaac Hayes. The music does all the talking on this track, no vocals necessary! Msystem & Toxo – Let’s Keep On feat. Fatimah Provillon [The Disco Express] Msystem & Toxo are no strangers to the scene, but this is their first appearance on The Disco Express label. “Let’s Keep On” is an uplifting track with a pulsing groove and a sensual vocal by Fatimah Provillon. The live instrumentation gives the track a classic feel. You can find this song on their Feeling Underground EP now! Rikki Disco – Expectations (Spooki Remix) {Stockholm Disco Sounds] The final remix for Rikky Disco‘s “Expectations” comes from Spooki. This remix feels lighter than the original, giving the track pure poolside vibes. The guitar adds a layer of pluckiness, alongside the synth strings and Fanacy’s dreamy vocals. I definitely need to be listening to this on a beach somewhere, stat! Anoraak – Shikata Ga Naï (JKriv Remix) [Juliet Records] Almost one year after the original version was released, JKriv comes out swinging on the final remix release from Anoraak‘s Golden Hour LP. The track has been given a proper Disco glow-up, with the vocals being perfectly complemented by the pings, pews, synths, and strings, but at a faster tempo. The title translates to nothing can be done about it, but JKriv has done plenty here! Cerrone & The Flints – Dancing Back To Life (The Reflex Revision) [Malligator Préférence] When it comes to remixing great songs, The Reflex has a very unique and special talent. “Dancing Back To Life” is already an amazing track, and somehow The Reflex makes it sound bigger, glossier, and more Disco! Cerrone gave the song its backbone, but The Reflex has given it a second skin. Funk LeBlanc – In Your Spell [Funk LeBlanc] Funk LeBlanc is back with “In Your Spell”, an indie flavoured Nu-disco track that is packed with retro, 80s sounding synths and a surprisingly strong vocal to carry you through the journey of the lyrics. At 1:44, you might think the song is changing into a synthwave track, but at 2:18, you are brought back into the Nu-disco ethos that the song is built around. It’s a fun trip throughout! Prep – Do What You Gotta feat. Sunset Rollercoaster [Bright Antenna] I have been singing the praises of Yacht Disco for some time now, so a new release from Prep is right on time to lift my spirits. “Do What You Gotta” featuring Taipei-based band Sunset Rollercoaster is a breath of fresh air in a time that pretty much stinks. Sébastien Tellier – Copycat [Because Music / Horizons] Sébastien Tellier‘s brilliant new album Kiss The Beast is available now, and it is jam-packed full of Disco, electronic, and symphonic tunes, and the track “Copycat” is a real standout! The song brings together all of the musical influences I mentioned, so if you like the sound of this track, then you will love the LP! Goodvibes Sound – Stay One More Night (Matt Hughes’ Late Night Radio Mix) [Too Slow To Disco NEO] The Sunset Manifesto 2 – The Remixes EP 2 will be released on February 13, and here is the nighttime, vibey teaser remix of the original Goodvibes Sound “Stay One More
