Riding a literal high this year with the release of his new album CTRL ESCAPE, John Summit has been everywhere. From a Red Rocks run to closing the Ultra Miami stage after a 24‑hour takeover at Space, plus that surprise Coachella set — you name it, the lad’s been throwing down. He’s basically a god in the scene right now, but even gods need to mind their health. John took to social media last night to share that he’s been “sick on and off” and needs time to recover. The Chicago producer was slated to play Santiago, Chile on May 8, followed by Lima, Peru on May 9. In his post, John made it clear he’s never cancelled a show before. So cancelling two major shows he’s genuinely reached his tipping point. John Summit’s 2026 – CTRL ESCAPE 2026 has been a busy year! The pre and post CTRL ESCAPE has seen no pauses from John. He set the tone early with a massive Ultra Miami close after a full 24‑hour Space takeover. Do you remember his Spotify pop up party? He invited fans in New York, a collab with Spotify and Linkedin on Wall street, through linkedin messages. Red Rocks came next with an open‑to‑close set that felt intentional and career‑defining. What a dream come true for the former accountant, which sold out in minutes. As if that was not enough, weekend one of Coachella rolled around and our boy was doing a surprise set at Do Lab. It definitely was Sumchella out there! And finally CTRL ESCAPE landed on tax day, April 15th. As fans look ahead, Summit is gearing up to take CTRL ESCAPE on the road, with major North American cities still waiting their turn. This summer is already stacked, starting with his first‑ever Ibiza residency at UNVRS. The full‑scale mega club hosts Experts Only every Monday from June 1 through July 27, marking a huge moment for both the label and his global rise. July also brings Experts Only to Bedford, a Tomorrowland appearance, and a return to Randall’s Island. With many dates already sold out, his calendar is filling fast — and if you’re still on the fence, now’s the time. These are shows you don’t want to miss. Well I can go on rambling about John and Experts only. In the near term, John heads to Atlanta next weekend, opening with Breakaway on the 15th, EDC on the 16th, and LIV Beach on the 17th. We hope John a speedy recovery so he can make the next big shows. Stay tuned to EDMTunes for all your latest and greatest in the dance music world.
