Disney is officially entering its festival era. In a move that further blurs the line between streaming platforms and live music culture, Disney+ will now join Hulu in livestreaming three of North America’s biggest festivals in 2026. The expansion marks the first time Disney+ subscribers around the world will get access to the broadcasts alongside Hulu viewers in the U.S. Hulu has already spent the past several years quietly becoming a legitimate player in the festival streaming space, carrying live feeds from major Live Nation events since 2022. But adding Disney+ to the equation massively widens the audience footprint. This signals that music festivals are no longer just destination experiences; they’re global streaming content. The 2026 rollout will begin with Bonnaroo from June 11-14, followed by Lollapalooza from July 30-August 2, before wrapping with Austin City Limits (ACL) in October. Additional programming details and stream schedules are expected closer to each event. Disney framed the move as part of its growing push into live event programming. Lauren Tempest, Head of Content Planning & Partnerships for Disney’s direct-to-consumer division, called festivals “electric, can’t-miss moments in culture”. Live Nation’s Kevin Chernett emphasized that modern festivals are evolving into “global live moments” that fans want to experience together in real time. For dance music fans specifically, the implications are hard to ignore. Festival live streams have become a major discovery engine for electronic artists over the past decade. Platforms like YouTube are helping turn sets from events like into viral moments overnight. Disney’s entering the space raises the stakes considerably and could push livestream production, artist exposure, and exclusives to another level entirely.
