Cloonee: hitting the big time

David Bissett, the DJ and producer internationally known as Cloonee, is riding high. Hailing from the small town of Bewdley in England’s West Midlands, he relocated to Los Angeles a few years ago following an invitation from production powerhouse Chris Lake, and has scarcely looked back since. The move opened up the tech-house star up musically, introducing him different sounds and styles that he could incorporate into his own, and helped build his profile to the point where he’s now playing huge shows all over the world. DJ Mag tracked Cloonee down to talk about his breakthrough success, his nu-metal and dubstep roots, supporting the Para Los Niños community project, and growing his thriving Hellbent brand.
