Aaron Hibell is a name you might be familiar with from his track ‘Set Me Free‘ soundtracking the Ultra Music Festival 2024 aftermovie. If that’s the case, then you only know one small dimension of this multifaceted artist who is having a huge year in 2026. Last Summer, he played festival sets at Tomorrowland, Parookaville, and more. The feedback was so positive that this Summer he’s playing on the Tomorrowland Freedom Stage, after releasing his debut album and beginning to tour it. We even named him to our Rising Stars list in 2025. We were fortunate enough to catch his Synchronicity Tour stop in Miami. His music is a glimpse of the future in time where the lines between techno, trance, and harder sounds are all starting to blur. Aaron Hibell is like a continuation of what Porter Robinson started with his Virtual Self project. His music blends the intensity of harder techno with the lyrics and emotional progressions of trance music to create something that feels like a modern Dance Dance Revolution type soundtrack. While his festival sets were pulse-pounding intensity from beginning to end, that too is just one dimension of Aaron Hibell. His Synchronicity Tour takes a big swing by eschewing the DJ set for something more like a concert, complete with Aaron’s full digital instrument suite and a mic so he can talk between tracks and interact with the crowd. The tour is intentionally stripped down to the artist, the instruments, and the crowd, with little between them. There was, at least in Miami, no screen with visuals, but there was certainly a mood being created with the lights and the smoke machines. The lack of over-the-top production shows just how impressive Aaron Hibell actually is, in all his forms. His set included emotional soundscape tracks, admittedly inspired by movie soundtracks such as Interstellar, high-intensity techno, trance, and even some afrohouse with a special appearanceance by Alex Wann. He showed off a significant number of his album tracks and had the crowd spellbound. He also played some of his impressive remixes like the one he did for John Summit’s ‘Human’, demonstrating his atmospheric trancey-techno sound. The instrumentation and crowd interaction were unique, harkening back to the era where all the DJs were trying to do “live” shows. Porter Robinson’s Worlds comes to mind as it featured a similar type of instrument cluster around the artist. It allowed the crowd to see Aaron actually performing the tracks live with the various sounds at his disposal, like a composer who had all of the world’s sounds available to him as instruments at one time. It was truly remarkable to see him plucking away at the various synths to create these beautiful tracks, and then it was equally interesting to hear him talk about some of them before he played them. It’s clear that Universal Music sees the talent in Aaron and has prepared a long runway for him to grow his career. Having seen him rip the roof of Tomorrowland’s Atmosphere tent in 2025, it was a very different experience seeing him in this intimate live concert environment. I was constantly thinking during the show about how he would utilize the cutting-edge Freedom Stage, which is very heavy on visuals and high-production. I suspect we’re going to see another evolution in Aaron Hibell’s performances when he takes that stage. We don’t know yet whether that will be a DJ set or a Synchronicity Live show, but it’s safe to say that with every show Aaron Hibell is gaining more and more fans. Do yourself a favor and make sure you catch him on his tour or at Tomorrowland this Summer. The post Aaron Hibell Oozes Talent During His Synchronicity Tour appeared first on EDMTunes.
