Populous Live A/V en microdosis features the project of Andrea Mangia, a producer and artist from Salento, Puglia. With a background in Musicology, Populous blends influences from the southern hemisphere with European electronic traditions, creating a warm and conceptual sound. His career began with the release of Quipo in 2003 on Morr Music, a notable work in the indietronica genre. In 2024, he composed a new album titled Isla Diferente during a residency in Lanzarote, which serves as the first release from his label Latinambient. This album merges ambient sounds with experimental electronic and Latin rhythms, reflecting the contrasts of Lanzarote's volcanic landscapes. Collaborators on this project include Fuera, Javier Arce, Eva de Marce, and Esotérica Tropical, with mixing and mastering by Bot, formerly of Crookers. Additionally, Populous has created music for fashion brands such as Vivienne Westwood, Gucci, and Missoni, and has performed at festivals like Primavera Sound and SXSW. In Madrid, he will present a live audiovisual show, enhancing his sonic exploration with visuals crafted specifically for this tour.
