From Public Records to Studio 151 to Mexico City’s Cafe de Nadie, she brings a true appreciation of global sounds and dance music to each of her sets — encouraging movement, discovery, and connection. ራሄል (Rachel) hosts a monthly radio show 'sunstepping' dedicated to international vinyl selections on East Village Radio and @ofthe___sun, a global dance party with fellow vinyl DJs. From opening sets to after parties, she’s supported artists like Thundercat, Kokoroko, Khruangbin, Berlioz, and Olivia Dean. Sasha Crush is a NY native, NTS resident, and founder of Crush, a curatorial project established in 2018. Her musical taste is influenced by the dancefloor, with an inclination toward disco, funk, post-punk, synth-pop, and house. She has played all around the city, including Public Records, Nightmoves, H0L0, Le Bain, and more. In 2021, she began broadcasting her monthly NTS show, Sasha Crush, where she became known for her dance-forward musical taste and following her intuition for weaving disco, funk, italo, electro, post-punk, and house; a practice that is deeply influenced by the history of underground dance music. Whether she’s DJing, or organizing the next Crush event, Sasha Crush creates spaces of community, love, and intergenerational connection.
