DJ Sneak, also known as Carlos Sosa, is a foundational figure in Chicago house music. His disco-filtered grooves played a significant role in reshaping 1990s dance music. Born in Puerto Rico and raised on salsa and Latin rhythms, he moved to Chicago in 1983, where he honed his sound amidst underground warehouse parties and WBMX radio.
