What is Amsterdam Techno Sessions?

Amsterdam Techno Sessions is a weekly Techno event held every Thursday in Amsterdam. Local and international artists are invited to showcase their work and share their personal interpretations of Techno every week. Tonight! Thursday, 15th of January 2026, we´re back to John Doe for our weekly Techno rendezvous. And for this one, we invited the Italian, Amsterdam-based, Van Sorgen to headline the night. Van Sorgen is a techno artist shaped by Detroit Techno, early rave culture, and raw house rhythms, crafting dark, percussive soundscapes enriched with ambient textures. His work centers on the idea of environment, using field recordings, spatial acoustics, and material resonance from industrial and natural locations as living sound sources. Positioned between classic techno roots and contemporary club aesthetics, his music has received broad support from leading artists across generations. Alongside his music career, Van Sorgen is an established professional sound designer, collaborating with global brands such as Capcom, Microsoft, Paul Mitchell, and Valentino Garavani on audio branding, music, sound effects, and experimental textures. A multidisciplinary autodidact, he is also an illustrator and painter whose visual work explores the cultural and aesthetic foundations of Techno, Acid House, and Rave. His handmade comics, sculptures, canvases, and collectible toys have been exhibited in Amsterdam galleries, forming a cohesive audiovisual narrative rooted in underground culture. Van Sorgen has released on respected labels including Planet Rhythm, Motech Records, Diffuse Reality, Flash Recordings, Hijacked Records, and Frequenza, and his tracks are played worldwide in iconic clubs like Berghain and at major festivals such as Awakenings, Stone Techno, Baum, Tela, and Creamfields.
