Frankie Knuckles (1955-2014) was an American DJ and producer from the Bronx, New York, known as the Godfather of House Music. His legendary residency at The Warehouse in Chicago from 1977-1982 gave house music its name. His productions including Your Love and Tears helped define the genre.
